The blender is the true workhorse in my kitchen, I use a blender at least once a day. Besides smoothies, drinks, soups and salsas,  I find a good blender is indispensable for baking too - making fruit purees, grinding grains, seeds and nuts, combining wet ingredients, and for some recipes, all ingredients...
