Sweet updates + new bloggers

me in our summer garden
We had a really HOT summer here in Mexico. It was a such a treat to bake with the bananas, limes, and coconuts that grew in our yard (well technically it was our friends' yard as we were housesitting their awesome place for 3 months - lucky us!). A few weeks ago we moved into a new place that has orange and mandarin trees. That's got us excited with citrus season fast approaching. Speaking of seasons, this is the first time we've experienced the storm season down here and we recently had Tropical Storm Karl - which went on to become a hurricane - pay us a visit. That was, um, exciting! Fortunately we only had to deal with power and internet outages, and everything is back to normal now. :)
We have been drooling over all of your lovely summer baking pics - cherries, blueberries, peaches - YUM! Thank you for all your delicious submissions - please keep them coming! Now that fall's here, we're excited to see what you're baking up with this season's bounty.
In case you missed it, we recently held our first giveaway, and it was a blast! Thanks to all who participated and a big thanks to Bake it Pretty for the sweet booty. (Any cool baking companies want to sponsor our next giveaway? Please check out our opportunities page.)
We also picked up some very talented hot baking bloggers recently - more than just a summer fling we hope! ;) A warm welcome to Amanda, Ellen, Michelle, Ria, Sara - as well as our newest hot baker Deeba of Passionate about Baking, who is officially the hottest baker on this site - who else bakes when it's over +40C?!?
We're so happy to have these talented bakers blogging with us! Be sure to let them know how much you love them by leaving a nice comment on their blog.
On that note, you may have noticed we recently turned off commenting (though we'll still have commenting on for news and giveaways). We did this because the best way you can support us, and our contributors, is to click through and leave a sweet comment on their blog. If you want to be really nice, mention that you found them via Baking is Hot. ;)
Have a great fall (or spring for you folks downunder!) and feel free to drop us a line here, on Twitter, or on Facebook. Stay tuned for our next great giveaway and more stellar recipes!
