We are always looking for delicious photos of baked goods that include great recipes and stories we can link to. Please visit our submission page. (Please note we can only feature pictures that you own, or are allowed to publish.)

What will help my chances of having one of my photos featured on your site?

It should be a beautiful, delicious, inspiring photo of baked goods with:

• good style and presentation
• good lighting and color balance
• clear focus
• a width of at least 400 pixels

We particularly love featuring:

• a variety of goods: classic, experimental, decadent, healthy, vegan, gluten-free international, seasonal...
• goods baked from scratch using natural ingredients
• well-tested recipes (including original recipes)

Do you make money writing about the products that are featured on Baking is Hot?

We do make a tiny commission off any sales in our Amazon Shop (and many of the products we write about can be purchased there) but that isn't the only reason we write about them. We love well designed tools, and believe the right tools help make amazing things. We set up our Amazon Shop to make it easier for you to find these high-quality, well-researched, hand-picked tools. That being said, we encourage you to shop locally whenever possible.

What do you do with the commission you make off your Amazon Shop sales?

So far we haven't made enough to cover the cost of running this site, but that's what we intend on doing with it. (We have to cover our costs somehow and we really don't want to put banner ads on the site.)

Who designed your blog and what did they use to build it?

We designed and built Baking is Hot using a platform called Drupal. It's an open-source CMS (content management system) that we have extensively customized to look and work like we want it to. We love Drupal because it's free, it's very flexible, and there's a great community of people supporting and maintaining it. That plus we've been designing and building Drupal sites professionally for 5+ years, so this is a bit of a showcase website for our design studio. ;)
