Julia Child’s Soufflé au Fromage

Julia Child’s Soufflé au Fromage

I'm going to go ahead and admit something: I am green with envy at this gorgeous cheese soufflé. Not only is is beautiful, but it's a Julia Child recipe. Julia is the original Martha Stewart: her stuff is not easy to make, but when it's done right, it's incredible. The flavors sing. The food melts in your mouth. Culinary perfection.

And I imagine that's exactly what this soufflé did for Kocinera. Gruyère, Swiss and Parmesan cheeses combine to make an "airy soufflé with hidden cheesy flavor permeating every bite."

Cauliflower-Gouda Layered Baked Eggs with Tomato and Spinach

Cauliflower-Gouda Layered Baked Eggs with Tomato and Spinach

Brunch might just be one of my favorite things about the weekend. It's the meal for people who aren't up in time for breakfast and who don't want to admit that lunchtime is technically over, too. It's best served on lazy weekend days, and it demands lazy weekend recipes.

These baked eggs are layered with all manner of delicious, fresh ingredients: cauliflower, tomatoes, spinach and gouda cheese. And the best part is, "everything is cooked using just the ramekins and the oven... no separate sautéing of ingredients in pans, no boiling in pots, etcetera." The Indolent Cook calls this recipe a "tribute to her laziness." I call it weekend perfection.

Ricotta Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ricotta Chocolate Chip Cookies

What happens when you add ricotta cheese to your regular chocolate chip cookie recipe? You get "soft, fluffy goodness the likes of which you have never even dared to imagine."

And let me tell you... I have been imagining these allllll week. Not just because they're dense and puffy, but because they're also packed with three different kinds of chocolate: milk, dark and semisweet. Dare to dream!

Cream Biscuits with Cheddar and Herbs

Cream Biscuits with Cheddar and Herbs

I was hooked before I even read the recipe. I mean really...what is not to love about these savory biscuits made with with heavy cream, cheddar cheese and fresh thyme?!

"These biscuits are amazing, especially right out of the oven. The texture is soft and slightly chewy, and that outer golden crust seals the deal with a slight amount of crispiness. The cheese? Oh, man. I wish you could have smelled the kitchen while these were baking..." My thoughts exactly.

Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread

Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread

Brazilians sure do make great buns - like these awesome cheese buns that are quick and easy to make, require no yeast - and no wheat flour either. This traditional cheese bread is made with tapioca starch instead and your choice of sharp tangy cheese - like parmesan. Leaf shares this great recipe and technique for making these savory treats that are crisp on the outside and chewy in the middle. I'm so making these - thank you!
