I adore traditional pumpkin bread for so many reasons: it's rich, it's dense, and it practically screams "fall is here!" That said, I also love to mix it up a little bit, and Shanon's seasonal additions are perfect: "cranberries (sweet and tart) and walnuts (toothsome and good for you)."

Plus, she sprinkled extra sugar over the top of the loaf before baking which resulted in a "crunchy, almost caramelized topping." Why didn't I think of that?!
