Base and topping are made with the same mixture, with a delicious layer of preserves in the middle. Yum!

Pecan Bars

Pecan Bars

Shanon took everything there is to love about pecan pie (and a few extras - bourbon, anyone?!) and translated it into these festive pecan bars. A brown sugar crust and bittersweet chocolate drizzle complete the scrumptious flavor profile.

Cranberry Turtle Bars

Cranberry Turtle Bars

Shanon's recipe "combines some very wonderful things: a buttery shortbread-type crust, golden caramel filling, sweet and tart cranberries, slightly salty pecans and rich bittersweet chocolate. Plus, they are gorgeous. Completely festive and appropriate for any type of holiday get-together."

Spice Nut Muffins

Spice Nut Muffins

I won't insult your intelligence by reminding you what "they" say about spice, I respect you too much for that. But what puts the extra nice in this recipe is that it's actually free of sugar, because date puree is used instead of the granulated stuff we're all, let's admit it, addicted to. Toasted pecans, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg join forces to put a delicious finishing touch on a good-for-you treat that still manages to taste sinfully sweet.

Sweet Potato Gingersnap Pie

Sweet Potato Gingersnap Pie

Full disclosure: I'm eating a piece of this pie as I type. I may be a little biased, but this pie is seriously delicious. In fact, I'm pretty sure sweet potatoes just replaced pumpkin as my favorite seasonal pie filling. It features a gingersnap cookie crust, creamy sweet potato filling and a toasted pecan and maple syrup topping. I'm sold, but we'll let you judge for yourself...

Ooey Gooey Taffy Tart Squares

Ooey Gooey Taffy Tart Squares

I'm going to go ahead and admit something: I've been stalking Sweetapolita's blog ever since I saw her asparagus cake. (If you haven't seen it, it's a work of art - you must go look!)

So, I was thrilled when these popped up in my inbox! A "shortbread-like crust" and an "ooey, gooey, sticky, sweet" topping (filled with pecans!) combine to create these gorgeous squares that taste "exactly like Taffy Tarts." Rosie describes them as addictive and delicious, and really...how could you resist?!
