Pumpkin Custard Pie

Pumpkin Custard Pie

from lolfoodie

There's something about the holiday season that makes us all a little nostalgic. We probably all have old family recipes that we pull out specifically during the holidays, and the sentiment alone makes them that much more comforting and special.

Cathy's pie is "an ode to her grandmother." It's made with a "delicious, creamy" pumpkin custard rather than the traditional pumpkin pie filling. A simple graham cracker crust and fresh whipped cream topping make it her own.

Dutch Apple Pie

Dutch Apple Pie

My favorite holiday pie? Apple. Hands down. And Joelen has the secret to a perfect pie: "finish the components separately and then assemble them before serving."

Crisp apples cook down over the stove before they're dropped into a pie crust and sprinkled with a streusel topping. The best part? This pie only bakes for about 10 minutes before you can serve it up "a la mode with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel."

Sweet Potato Gingersnap Pie

Sweet Potato Gingersnap Pie

Full disclosure: I'm eating a piece of this pie as I type. I may be a little biased, but this pie is seriously delicious. In fact, I'm pretty sure sweet potatoes just replaced pumpkin as my favorite seasonal pie filling. It features a gingersnap cookie crust, creamy sweet potato filling and a toasted pecan and maple syrup topping. I'm sold, but we'll let you judge for yourself...
